1.Silica brick composition and specs
In our factory, silica brick composition is strict. We keep SiO2 content above 94%, often hitting 96% for glass furnace roofs. This is a basic workshop rule.
For silica brick specifications, we make standard silica brick dimensions like 230x114x65mm, but for glass melting tank crowns, we press large, complex wedge shapes. The fit must be tight so no flame leaks out.

2.Real silica brick properties and heat
Why use a silica fire brick instead of others? Because at high temperatures, it holds the heavy structure without bending. The silica brick density we control is very specific. True density is kept under 2.34g/cm3. This means the brick will not expand and crack your kiln when it heats up.
Silica brick thermal conductivity is also key to keep the temperature right. The basic silica brick refractory limit is around 1690℃, and its softening point under heavy load is very high, usually above 1620℃. This is why the glass furnace roof does not collapse.
