Alumina Silicate Refractory Fiber Blanket
Ruitai Lianxin’s ceramic fiber blankets are made from high-purity alumina and silica raw materials, melted at approximately 1700 °C, and then purged with high-pressure air or steam to fiberize the melt. Finally, the collected fibers are needle-punched into a uniform and continuous felt layer. The needle-punching process creates a mechanical interlock between the fibers, giving the fiber blanket excellent tensile strength and durability, and eliminating the need for organic adhesives that would burn out during the initial heating process.

Features of Ceramic Fiber Blanket
Alumina silicate fiber blankets were chosen over rigid insulation materials because they combine reliable high-temperature performance with flexible installation methods, allowing for faster installation and wrapping of materials with complex shapes. The following key characteristics are crucial for achieving energy savings, reduced downtime, and extended lining life in practical furnace and piping applications:
- Low thermal conductivity — ≤0.153 W/(m·K), reducing heat loss and energy costs in furnace and piping systems.
- Excellent thermal shock resistance — Unlike ordinary refractory materials, it can withstand rapid temperature cycling without cracking or peeling.
- Lightweight and flexible — Easy to cut, wrap, and install on furnace bodies with complex geometries; reduces the structural load on the furnace steel structure.
- Good chemical stability — Resistant to most acids, alkalis, and oils (except hydrofluoric acid, strong phosphoric acid, and high-temperature concentrated alkalis).
- Low heat storage — Less heat absorbed during operation and less heat released during shutdown, thus improving furnace thermal efficiency.
Widespread Application of Ceramic Fiber Blanket
Alumina silicate refractory fiber blankets are widely used in high-temperature industrial facilities, serving as both primary hot-face linings and auxiliary insulation layers. Suitable for various heating equipment, they reduce heat loss and protect metal structures from heat damage.
Used for insulation of aluminum smelting furnaces and holding furnaces, copper converters, nickel smelting furnaces, and zinc distillation kettles.

Used for backing insulation of refractory bricks or castables in steel ladles, tundishes, and electric arc furnace roofs; insulation of furnace doors and burner gaskets.

Used for boiler wall insulation, duct insulation, turbine shell insulation, and chimney/flue lining insulation in coal-fired and waste heat power plants.

Used for insulation of reforming units, cracking furnaces, ethylene heaters, and high-temperature reactors.

Ceramic Fiber Blanket Price
The price of alumina silicate refractory fiber blankets depends primarily on three factors: grade, density, and thickness, as well as the order quantity. High-temperature grades with added zirconium or chromium have higher raw material costs, while standard 1260 °C refractory fiber blankets offer the best cost-performance ratio for most furnace and piping applications.
As a direct refractory materials manufacturer, we offer factory-direct pricing. Bulk orders of the same grade and specifications are eligible for volume discounts. We also provide consolidated shipping options for orders placed with refractory bricks, ceramic fiber boards, or castables to help customers reduce overall logistics costs.
