About Basic Magnesia Chrome Brick, What You Need To Know?

A basic magnesia chrome brick is what we press and fire every day here at our Ruitai Lianxin factory. We handle everything from raw ore crushing to the final tunnel kiln firing. If you operate a high-temperature smelting furnace, you know this heavy-duty material is important.

1.What is inside a mag chrome brick?

We mix high-grade dead-burned magnesia sand with crushed chrome ore to make a mag chrome brick. We fire them in our kilns at over 1700℃. This high heat creates a tough basic

refractory brick that resists aggressive basic slag very well.

It survives chemical washing much better than standard high alumina bricks or fireclay blocks. The real secret is the raw material purity. If the sand is cheap, your magnesite chrome brick will just melt down or crack when your furnace is running at peak heat.

2.Where to put them in your kiln?

Most kiln operators buy our magnesia chromite brick for the worst working zones. It is the absolute standard Refractory Brick for Non-Ferrous Smelting.

If you run a copper converter, a reverberatory furnace, or a flash furnace, you must use a copper smelting refractory brick to fight the heavy liquid metal and slag.

They also perform great in the burning zones of rotary cement kilns. You cannot use acid bricks like silica bricks here. The basic slag will eat them fast. A dense Chrome Magnesia Brick is the only thing that survives.

3.Direct-bonded vs. Semi-rebonded types

You need to pick the right grade for your specific job.

We produce standard magnesia chrome brick, direct-bonded magnesia-chrome brick, and semi-rebonded types.

Direct-bonded means we fire it very hot so the magnesia and chrome grains lock together directly without glass in between. This handles thermal shock well when your furnace temperature goes up and down.

Semi-rebonded uses fused magnesia chrome sand. It is physically harder and fights chemical wear even better.

Tell us your furnace temperature and slag type, and we tell you the right magnesia refractory brick to use.

When we shape the blocks at Ruitai Lianxin, we use massive friction presses. High bulk density is our main rule.

If a brick is loose and has high porosity, hot slag gets inside the pores and breaks it from the inside out.

As the direct factory, we test the density, cold crushing strength, and porosity of every batch before loading the container. We only ship heavy, tight blocks.
