Sintered zirconia corundum bricks (AZS bricks) are a type of refractory material made primarily from zirconia-corundum clinker.

The main components of zirconia-corundum clinker are aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and zirconium oxide (ZrO₂), with the zirconium oxide content ranging from 33% to 45%.

Sintered zirconia corundum fire bricks possess many excellent properties. Firstly, these fire bricks offer excellent high-temperature resistance, with an operating temperature exceeding 1700°C. They also possess excellent thermal shock and corrosion resistance, withstanding drastic temperature fluctuations and chemical attack. Therefore, they are often used in critical high-temperature melting environments, such as glass melting furnaces and non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces.

Sintered zirconia-corundum bricks (sintered AZS) belong to the Al₂O₃-ZrO₂-SiO₂ ternary system of high-grade refractory materials. Unlike electrofused cast AZS, they rely on solid-state reaction sintering, eliminating the need for high-temperature melting and casting processes.

Main raw materials

High-purity industrial alumina, zircon fine powder, corundum clinker, trace composite mineralizers; strict control of harmful impurities such as Fe₂O₃ and Na₂O to avoid the formation of large amounts of glassy phase at high temperatures.
