Applications of Refractory Bricks

Refractory bricks are a special building material with excellent high-temperature resistance, widely used in metallurgy, building materials, chemical industry, and many other industries. The following are its main application areas:

Metallurgical Industry

Blast furnaces are key equipment in ironmaking, with temperatures reaching over 1500℃. Refractory bricks are used to line the furnace bottom and hearth, in order to resisting the erosion of high-temperature molten iron and slag. Converters and electric furnaces are used for steelmaking, with temperatures exceeding 1600℃. Refractory bricks, as linings, can withstand the scouring of high-temperature molten steel and slag. Furthermore, hot blast stoves provide high-temperature hot air to blast furnaces; refractory bricks are used to line the furnace walls and domes, withstanding the scouring and thermal shock of the high-temperature airflow.

Building Materials Industry

Cement kilns are core equipment in cement production, with temperatures reaching over 1450℃. Refractory bricks are used to line the kiln cylinder, kiln head, and kiln tail, because it can withstanding the scouring and chemical erosion of high-temperature clinker. Glass furnaces are used to produce glass products. The temperature inside the furnace typically exceeds 1500℃. It is used to construct the furnace walls, bottom, and roof, in order to resisting the erosion of high-temperature molten glass and thermal shock.

Chemical Industry

Pyrolysis furnaces are used in petrochemical cracking reactions. The temperature inside the furnace can reach over 1000℃. Refractory bricks are used to construct the furnace walls and tubes, because it can resist the erosion of high temperatures and corrosive gases. Gasification furnaces are used for coal gasification or biomass gasification. Because the temperature inside the furnace typically exceeds 1200℃. So It is used to construct the furnace walls and bottom, resisting the erosion of high temperatures and corrosive gases.

Power Industry

Refractory bricks are commonly used for the lining of boilers in thermal power plants. These boilers need to withstand high temperatures and pressures during operation. It provide the necessary heat resistance and mechanical strength to ensure stable boiler operation.

Ceramics Industry

High-temperature firing is an essential step in tile production. Refractory bricks are used as kiln linings to ensure uniform firing and high-quality tile output. Furthermore, it is also used in the production of daily-use ceramics and architectural ceramics to construct kilns, ensuring their stability and lifespan.

Waste Incineration Industry

Waste incinerators need to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments during operation. Refractory bricks, as linings, can withstand these conditions, so ensuring the stability and efficiency of the waste incineration process.
